AMD releases Ruilong Threadripper PRO processor:up to 64 cores, 8-channel memory, 128 PCIe 4.0
In the early hours of this morning, AMD released a new Ruilong Threadripper PRO series processor. This series of processors supports enterprise-level AMD PRO technology, has up to 64 cores and ultra-large bandwidth, provides 8-channel memory support and 128 PCI-E 4.0 channels, and supports enterprise-level AMD PRO technology.
The AMD RyzenTM Threadripper PRO processor is designed for professional workstations of OEMs and system integrators, providing a full range of computing power, which can be matched with highly advantageous cores according to the number of working threads and the load. Quantity and high-frequency single-core performance, this processor is built for artists, architects, engineers and data scientists.
AMD senior vice president and general manager of client business department Saeid Moshkelani said:
AMD Ruilong Threadripper PRO processor has been specially designed to lead the industry in computing performance of professional workstations standard. It combines the outstanding performance of Ruilong Threadripper processor, the advantages of super multi-core number and bandwidth, the seamless manageability of AMD PRO technology and the unique built-in data protection, etc., to meet the most demanding professional application scenarios. Whether it’s artists and creators developing breathtaking visual effects or architects and engineers dealing with large data sets and complex visualizations, the AMD Professional Workstation platform can help it turn from digital into reality.
AMD Ruilong Threadripper PRO has the first 64-core workstation processor and the first 12-core workstation processor with a base frequency of 4GHz. It has strong single-thread and multi-thread performance and supports 8-channel DDR4. -3200 memory, maximum support 2TB memory capacity, can provide up to 128 PCI-E 4.0 channels, providing powerful expansion capabilities.
AMD Ruilong Threadripper PRO processor has built-in AMD PRO technology to provide a variety of enterprise-level features:
AMD PRO security-built-in multi-layer security features to help protect sensitive data
AMD PRO manageability-Simplify deployment, imaging, and management compatible with current infrastructure
AMD Memory Guard-full memory encryption, helps prevent physical attacks on sensitive data
AMD PRO business reliability – 18 months of software stability support and 24 months of product continuous supply support
AMD Ruilong Threadripper PRO has four products including 64 cores The Ruilong Threadripper PRO 3995WX, 32-core Ruilong Threadripper PRO 3975WX, 16-core Ruilong Threadripper PRO 3955WX, 12-core Ruilong Threadripper PRO 3945WX, TDP are 280W, the specific frequency is shown in the table above.
Compared with the current Ruilong Threadripper processor, the core combination of Ruilong Threadripper PRO is different. The memory is doubled from 4 to 8 channels, and the maximum memory capacity is also increased from 256GB to 2TB. The number of PCI-E channels provided has also doubled from 64 to 128, the difference is still very large, and the customers are also different. Ruilong Threadripper is for enthusiast gamers, streaming players, digital content creators, and Rui Long Threadripper PRO is for professional studios, designers, engineers and data scientists.
Intel’s Xeon W series processors only have a maximum of 28 cores, so the 64-core Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3995WX is paired with the dual Xeon Plainum 8280 platform, while the 32-core Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3975WX is It is Xeon W-3275, Ruilong Threadripper PRO 3955WX vs. Xeon W-2295, Ruilong Threadripper PRO 3945WX vs. Xeon W-3235, the following is the official performance comparison provided by AMD:
First The product equipped with AMD RyzenTM Threadripper PRO will be Lenovo ThinkStation P620, a 64-core PRO workstation system equipped with AMD Threadripper Pro 3995WX processor will be available this fall.
