General Administration of Customs:New Coronavirus detected from the outer packaging of frozen white shrimp in Ecuador

On the same day, Xiamen Customs produced from Empacadora Del Pacifico Sociedad Anonima Edpacif SA (Registration No. 654) of EcuadorFrozen South Nuclear coronavirus nucleic acid was positive in two outer packaging samples of whitening shrimp. The frozen South American white prawn shrimp body and inner packaging samples of the above-mentioned enterprises were negative for nucleic acid detection of the new coronavirus, and all other 227,928 samples were negative.
He revealed that for positive samples After the nucleic acid sequence analysis and expert judgment, the test results suggest that the container environment and the outer packaging of the products of the three companies in Ecuador are at risk of contamination by the new coronavirus. Experts judged that the result of the detection did not mean it was contagious, but it reflected that the food safety management system of relevant enterprises was not implemented in place.
In order to protect consumers’ health, the General Administration of Customs has decided to suspend the registration of the above three companies in China for Ecuador from now on, and suspend the import of products from these three companies. The goods shall be dealt with by measures such as return and destruction. The General Administration of Customs has notified the competent authorities of the Ecuadorian government to ask them to investigate the relevant issues and provide feedback to China as soon as possible. At the same time, it is requested to further strengthen the supervision of food enterprises exporting to China, and urge enterprises to implement the joint development of FAO and the World Health Organization The”New Coronary Pneumonia and Food Safety:Guidelines for Food Enterprises” released, improves the food safety management system, strengthens the safety and health management and employee protection during production, processing, and transportation to ensure the safety of food exports to China.
