Dangerous situations are orders. More than 2,000 officers and soldiers of a brigade of the 72nd Army went to the front line of flood control, plugged and reinforced the dams and flood control walls, and went all out to carry out emergency rescue operations.
On the evening of July 10, the Baidang Lake area in Tongling City was severely affected. After receiving the request from the local government, the brigade quickly docked with the Anhui Provincial Military Region and the Tongling Army Subdistrict to immediately draw troops and carry emergency rescue. The equipment formed the first echelon and rushed to the disaster area for rescue.
On the 11th, the flood control emergency team rushed to the disaster area of Tongling to carry out rescue. After nearly four hours of hard work, a new dam with a length of more than 30 meters and a height of 2 meters was built.
In the emergency, combined with the actual situation of the mission, the brigade dispatched more than 1,000 officers and soldiers to the three dangerous sections with severe danger. In order to respond to the threat of a new round of heavy rainfall, officers and soldiers raced to reinforce the dam every second, and planned to strengthen the 5km long flood control wall before the arrival of the largest flood peak.
On the evening of the 12th, the Anhui Wuwei District Government received a flood response request. The brigade quickly launched an emergency plan, gathered troops urgently, and continued to deploy more than 1,000 officers and soldiers to the affected area.
As of press time, the brigade dispatched more than 2,000 anti-flood officers and soldiers, rescued and transferred more than 100 trapped people, and repaired more than 10 kilometers of roads.
