Before the new president takes office, the US Department of Justice will execute another three people
On the 20th local time, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that it would execute the death penalty on three more people. These death sentences will be executed before the new president takes office on January 20, 2021.
According to the U.S.”Capitol Hill” report, the criminals involved in the death penalty include Alfred Bourgeois, Cory Johnson and Dustin John Hee. Gus (Dustin John Higgs). The three were charged with”murder of children”,”murder of 7 people” and”kidnapping and murder of 3 women”. The execution of the death penalty is scheduled for three different dates between December 2020 and January 2021.
It is currently known that Higgs’ execution date is set for January 15, 2021. According to US media, the date is set a few days before the new president takes office.
Just before U.S. Attorney General Barr announced the news, U.S. media reported that three other people will also be executed in the near future. The”Capitol Hill” pointed out that once Biden takes office, it will reverse the Trump administration’s reinstatement of the death penalty.
According to the”New York Times” report, Robert Dunham, Executive Director of the US Death Penalty Information Center (Robert Dunham ) Believes that the decision to execute these death sentences in the White House during the transition period is extraordinary.
