[Denisovans DNA”appears” in Baishiya cave in Xiahe, Gansu] Lanzhou University Environmental Archaeology Team Ancient Humans on Qinghai-Tibet Plateau There has been a major breakthrough in activity research. The National Cultural Heritage Administration recently announced that the Lanzhou University research team discovered in the Baishiya karst cave in Xiahe, Gansu that the site was rich in the remains of ancient human activities from the Middle Pleistocene to the Late Pleistocene. The sequence of a Denisovan mitochondrial gene reveals that Denisovan lived on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau for a long time in the late Pleistocene. This is the first successful case of applying the most advanced ancient DNA analysis technology in the world to extract ancient human genetic information from the sediments of Chinese archaeological sites.
