The Yuanwang 3 ship goes to sea to perform maritime measurement and control tasks such as Chang’e 5
Xinhua News Agency, Nanjing, November 19th (Gao Chao, Qichuang) my country’s second-generation aerospace ocean-going survey ship, the Yuanwang 3 ship, went to sea on the morning of the 19th to perform satellite marine monitoring and control missions, and will be launched in late November. The Chang’e-5 detector provides key measurement and control support.
So far, in addition to the Yuanwang 7 ship, which is undergoing ship repair and transformation, the China Satellite Marine Monitoring and Control Department has The Yuanwang No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 survey ships have all rushed to the ocean to perform maritime measurement and control tasks.
Since this year, Yuanwang 3 has successfully completed three maritime measurement and control missions represented by a series of new technology verification satellites, and has sailed safely over 20,000 nautical miles.
The ship is a second-generation spacecraft measurement and control ship independently designed and built by China. It is mainly responsible for maritime measurement and control communication tasks for rockets, high, medium and low orbit satellites, spacecraft, and space stations. It has traveled across the ocean for more than 20 years. More than a few times, 89 marine measurement and control missions represented by Shenzhou, Chang’e, and Beidou were successfully completed, with a success rate of 100%.
