The case of producing and selling counterfeit wine worth more than 20 million yuan was successfully solved, and six criminal suspects have been taken criminal compulsory measures in accordance with the law.

In June this year, a case involving the sale of counterfeit registered trademarks was cracked with the Public Security Bureau of Buksail Mongolian Autonomous County. After six months, the organization structure and criminal facts of the gang involved in the case were investigated. In December, the task force went to Urumqi to carry out work. A total of 6 suspects were arrested, 2 filling dens and 3 warehouses were sealed up, more than 1011 pieces and 8408 bottles of various well-known brand liquors were seized, and more than 8,408 bottles were seized for making fake liquor. 220 pieces of raw materials, more than 12,000 sets of various counterfeit wine packaging materials, more than 390,000 trademarks of various types, more than 100 tools for manufacturing counterfeit wine, and 2 vehicles were seized, with a value of more than 20 million yuan.

According to investigations, the gang used two rental houses as production sites and purchased counterfeit equipment, fake outsourcing kits, and bottle caps at low prices. The low-grade bulk liquor used for blending is filled with tools and changed into boxes, and distributed layer by layer to all parts of Xinjiang and other provinces and cities. After the criminal gang’s “dress up”, these fake wines “worth” soared.

Currently, 6 suspects have been taken criminal compulsory measures by the police in Hebuksail Mongolian Autonomous County according to law, and the case is under further investigation.
