After Harden left the team, the Rockets’ defensive efficiency rose from 22nd to 3rd in the league
Live it on January 28th. Harden has been away from the Rockets for nearly two weeks. Special report on Rockets analyst Ben DuBose counted the team’s offensive and defensive data before and after Harden’s departure this season.
In the seven games since Harden left the team, the Rockets ranked third in the league in defensive efficiency, scoring 102.9 points per 100 possessions, and only lagging behind The Lakers (102.3) and the Clippers (102.7). In the same period, the Rockets had an offensive efficiency of 107.3 points, ranking 21st in the league, with an average of 4.4 points per game.
In the nine games before Harden’s trade, the Rockets’ defensive efficiency was 111.1, ranking 22nd in the league during the same period; offensive efficiency was 109.2, ranking 17th in the league during the same period.
