On the same day, guests and Fujianese Chinese arts and crafts masters Wang Zuguang, Huang Lijuan, Chen Yijing, Chen Lizhong and Zheng Youlin jointly opened the curtain for the exhibition.
According to the organizer, Chen Lizhong’s mentorship exhibition is one of the series of exhibitions of “Southeast Art-Chinese Arts and Crafts Masters (Fujian)”. As a special event for Shoushan stone carving, this exhibition displays more than 60 masterpieces of Shoushan stone carving by Chen Lizhong and his apprentices.

Chen Lizhong, also known as Guansen, is a native of Fuzhou, Fujian Province, and is the dean and professor of the Arts and Crafts Research Institute of Fujian Normal University of Technology, and a master of Chinese arts and crafts. Under the tutelage of Chinese arts and crafts master Mr. Feng Jiuhe, national representative inheritor of intangible cultural heritage Shoushan stone carving skills, member of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Chinese Association for the Promotion of Democracy, national first-level artist, special-class artist of arts and crafts, China Arts and Crafts Association Deputy Director of Jade Special Committee.

In the exhibition hall, Chen Lizhong’s new Shoushan stone sculpture “Xiadang New Look” is based on the landscape of Xiadang Township, Shouning County, Ningde City, Fujian Province. Chemical processing: presenting a long winding stream from the nearby Luanfeng Bridge, the water surface extends to the distance, the landscape and houses are scattered, dense and orderly, the picture is elegant and empty, and the layout is changing. The situation and the composition of vegetation, trees and stones restore the beautiful scenery of Xiadang Township. It shows that under the leadership of the party, the people’s lives are becoming more and more prosperous, and a road of poverty alleviation and development in which the people are rich and ecologically beautiful has been embarked.

Chen Lizhong said that he grew up with the reform and opening up and witnessed the country’s prosperity. At present, there are 49 Chinese crafts and arts masters of Fujian origin, and these masters have also cultivated many outstanding Shoushan stone carving skills. I also hope that in such a good era, we will continue to work hard to pass on China’s excellent traditional arts and crafts.
