China News Service, Zhengzhou, March 8th (Kan Li) March 8th is the “March 8” International Women’s Day. It is a special day for Chen Junying, a female village doctor in Hebi, Henan. She gave herself a special gift to donate the “seed of life” hematopoietic stem cells to help a patient with a blood disease.

On the morning of the 8th, Chen Junying, lying in the stem cell collection room of Henan Provincial People’s Hospital, had a relaxed face. Five days ago, Chen Junying, accompanied by his son Zhang Hang, came to Zhengzhou to prepare for the donation.

Chen Junying, 50 years old this year, is a rural doctor in the Hebi Junzhou Community Health Service Center. He has been engaged in medical and health care for 24 years, serving a community of 1,112 people.

Back in July 2002, when Chen Junying first donated blood, she joined the China Bone Marrow Bank and became a glorious hematopoietic stem cell volunteer. After 18 years of long waiting, the matching was finally successful in March 2020. After 10 months, Chen Junying and others came to the notice of high resolution and physical examination.

Due to her older age, Chen Junying cherishes every step of the donation process. From the moment the matching is successful, she uses all the gaps to strengthen her exercise. In January this year, after passing a comprehensive physical examination, Chen Junying made all preparations before donating.

During the conversation, the reporter learned that Chen Junying was very excited when he received the news of the success of the match. She knew that the chance of this match was very low. “Since I have met, I will never stand by and save a life. It is my greatest luck.”

As a medical worker, Chen Junying understands the meaning of life better. “Donating hematopoietic stem cells to save people is not only a role model for the two children, but also hope that caring people in society can also participate.”

Chen Junying’s husband worked in Jiangsu and responded to this year’s Spring Festival. “New Year” initiative, has never been home. When Chen Junying called her husband to tell her that the matching was successful, her husband also immediately supported and encouraged her.

“Being able to save lives with her own hematopoietic stem cells is the most meaningful’March 8th Festival’ she has ever had in her life.” Chen Junying’s donated hematopoietic stem cells were transported to the patient’s hospital in the afternoon of the same day for patients with blood diseases. On the same day, Wu Feifei, a veteran of Zhengzhou City, also donated the “seeds of life” to a female patient with hematological diseases at Henan Cancer Hospital. Unlike Chen Junying, Wu Feifei sent a special “March 8th” gift to this female patient.

Wu Feifei, 39 years old this year, has a strong physique. After he retired from the army, he transferred to the Yellow River Guest House Property Department to engage in garden trimming. In life, he is optimistic and cheerful, and actively participates in public welfare undertakings.

In 2009, Wu Feifei participated in a voluntary blood donation event organized by his unit for the first time. Since then, he has participated in unpaid blood donations every year.

A few years later, Wu Feifei learned about and joined the Chinese Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donor Database. “The only thought was that once the matching was successful, I would use my blood to save my life.”

After 8 years of waiting, on July 10, 2020, Wu Feifei unexpectedly picked up I called the Zhengzhou Red Cross Society and learned that he was initially matched with a blood disease patient. After that, he went through a process and finally donated the “seeds of life” on special days.

The reporter learned from the Zhengzhou Red Cross that Chen Junying and Wu Feifei were the 954th and 955th non-blood-related hematopoietic stem cell donors in Henan Province, respectively. (End)
