The Ministry of Foreign Affairs answers reporters’ questions on the issue of statements by the United States and others, questioning traceability reports, Hong Kong affairs
On March 31, 2021, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying presided over a regular press conference
At the invitation of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, South Korean Foreign Minister Jeong Yi-yong will visit China from April 2nd to 3rd.
Currently, China-South Korea relations are developing well. This year and next are the “China-South Korea Cultural Exchange Year”, and next year will be the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea. The relations between the two countries face important opportunities for further deepening and development. China is willing to work together with South Korea to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state through this visit, enhance strategic communication, deepen practical cooperation, and promote the continuous development of China-South Korea strategic cooperative partnership.
Hua Chunying: On the 30th, the “2020 National Human Rights Report” issued by the U.S. State Department stated that the Chinese government had committed “genocide” in Xinjiang, and made false accusations on China’s Xinjiang policies. This morning, many Chinese media asked China’s position to the Spokesperson’s Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In order to better clarify China’s position, I specially asked my colleague to sacrifice lunch and rest time and hurriedly produced a slideshow today. (Start the slide show)
The so-called “genocide” in China is a big lie that violates international law. The crime of genocide is recognized as a serious international crime. The birth of this concept is closely related to World War II and is used to describe “the destruction of a nation or a racial group.” In December 1948, the United Nations General Assembly passed the “Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide”, which clearly defined the crime of genocide. According to the Convention, genocide refers to the atrocities committed to “completely or partially eliminate a specific group”. On the objective side, it is necessary to prove that the perpetrator has performed the relevant acts stipulated in the Convention. This is the most basic requirement for the determination of the crime of genocide. The relevant evidence and relevant elements must require “a high degree of proof” and “complete affirmation.” On the subjective side, the specific intent of “completely or partially destroying a specific group” must be required. This is a key element in determining the crime of genocide, and the determination of specific intent must be specific and clear. Therefore, the determination of the crime of genocide needs to go through authoritative and strict legal procedures, and must withstand the test of facts and history. No country, organization, or individual has the right and power to arbitrarily convict other countries as guilty of “genocide.” In international relations, no country can use this crime as a political label for eloquence and malicious manipulation.
Based on the lies and false information of individual anti-China forces, the U.S. arbitrarily asserts that there is “genocide” in Xinjiang, China. This is a ridiculous lie of the century. It is a great insult and a violation of the Chinese people, and it is also a great insult to the Chinese people. Serious violations of the basic norms of international law and international relations.
A large number of facts have long proved that the so-called investigation report that the US continues to quote hype is false information fabricated by anti-China extremists Zheng Guoen and his like, and several so-called “witnesses” are only trained by them.” “Actors”, while the relevant media played the role of “megaphones” and lie spreaders in the middle. Their clumsy performances are full of loopholes. Not only China’s Xinjiang but also many foreigners, including the United States, have exposed and criticized them in various ways.
The so-called “genocide” is a slander on China’s ethnic policies and slander on Xinjiang’s development achievements. China is a unified multi-ethnic country. According to the Chinese Constitution and the Law on Regional Ethnic Autonomy, the legal rights and rights of all ethnic minorities are fully protected, and the equality, unity, mutual assistance, and harmonious relations of all ethnic groups are effectively maintained. It is no exaggeration to say that China’s ethnic minority policies are much better and fairer than those of the United States. The ethnic minorities in China are much happier, equal, and dignified than those in the United States. The United States has fabricated lies one after another, and even made up big lies such as “genocide” and “forced labor”. It is really absurd! China has always implemented a fertility policy for ethnic minorities that is wider than that of the Han. The growth rate of the ethnic minority population has been higher than the national average. In the past 40 years, the Uyghur population in Xinjiang has increased from 5.55 million to 12.8 million, and the average life expectancy has increased from 60. The age of 30 years ago was raised to 72 years old. Has anyone seen such “genocide”? In order to satisfy the people’s desire to get rid of poverty and employment, governments at all levels in Xinjiang, on the basis of fully respecting their wishes, help the people to find jobs in other provinces and cities and lead a better life with higher income. Has anyone seen such “genocide”? Most cotton in Xinjiang has achieved mechanized harvesting. In the mature season, migrant workers from Henan and Sichuan will also go to Xinjiang to pick cotton. How is this different from Americans working across states and people from some European countries working in vineyards in autumn?
As a big country, the United States ignores the reality of Xinjiang’s security and prosperity and the fact that 25 million people of all ethnic groups are united and harmonious, and just based on the statements of a few so-called false scholars and false witnesses, they arbitrarily label China “genocide.” “The hat can only expose the hypocrisy of the U.S.’s so-called rule of law, and only prove the U.S.’s strategic conspiracy to create the so-called Xinjiang issue to deter China’s development. Just as Wilkerson, the former director of the U.S. Secretary of State Powell’s office who personally participated in the instigation of the Iraq war, admitted personally, the so-called Xinjiang Uyghur issue is nothing more than a long-term strategic conspiracy by the United States to mess up and contain China from within. This approach is exactly the same as what the United States and its several allies did to Iraq and Syria back then, but it will never succeed in China.
The U.S.’s current brutal, irritable and indiscriminate accusations against China’s Xinjiang are in fact all the sins they have committed and the evils they have done, and they are all reflections of their own sins.
Not to mention the genocide and extermination of Indians through the “Westward Movement” in the history of the United States, and the crimes committed by them in trafficking and enslaving blacks; not to mention the anti-terrorism actions of the United States after 9/11. The famous fought against Muslim countries, using the so-called “washing powder” and posing videos as evidence to brazenly launch military aggression against other sovereign countries, causing hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians casualties and tens of millions of Muslim families destroyed; not to mention the US in Guantanamo prison And the crime of torture committed in Abu Ghraib prison. In the past two days, the “Washington Post” published a report on “Native American History: Smallpox Vaccine and Deportation of Homes”, which reviewed the long-term lies and evil deeds of the US government against Native Indians, including deliberately Smallpox virus blankets were donated to indigenous people who lacked immunity, resulting in a sharp decline in their population, including thousands of young indigenous women who were sterilized by the US government without knowing it. There has also been the tragic and inhumane treatment of illegal immigrants detained at the US-Mexico border that have been constantly exposed in recent days, including a large number of children, one after another, which can be described as shocking. When the United Nations Human Rights Council deliberated on the human rights report of the United States this year, more than 110 countries criticized the human rights issues in the United States and demanded that the United States effectively resolve its own systemic problems such as discrimination against minorities.
The United States has no right to accuse China of human rights issues. The play they wrote, directed and acted by themselves should come to an end. American politicians should wake up from their “Trumen world”!
CCTV reporter: Yesterday, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress reviewed and approved amendments to Annex I and Annex II of the Hong Kong Basic Law. The United Kingdom, the United States and other countries claimed that this action undermined Hong Kong’s democracy, undermined the freedom of Hong Kong people, violated the Sino-British Joint Declaration, and violated China’s international obligations. What is China’s comment?
Hua Chunying: Yesterday, the 27th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People’s Congress reviewed and approved amendments to Annex I and Annex II of the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. This provides a solid institutional guarantee for the comprehensive and accurate implementation of the “one country, two systems” principle, the implementation of the “patriots ruling Hong Kong” principle, and the long-term stability of Hong Kong. It fully reflects the common aspirations of all Chinese people, including Hong Kong compatriots. Yesterday, the Legal Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and the head of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council have introduced the relevant situation. The Liaison Office of the Central Committee of Hong Kong also issued a statement, expressing its position. I want to emphasize the following points again:
- Countries such as the United Kingdom and the United States question the principle of “Patriots governing Hong Kong”. In fact, the principle of “Patriots governing” has long been a common practice in all countries in the world. The United States, Britain and other countries have long established strict standards for patriotism and loyalty in their own laws, especially for public officials to be loyal to the country. For example, the US law stipulates that the first general principle of the basic responsibilities of government workers is to be loyal to the US Constitution and laws; anyone who supports the overthrow of the US constitution and government, or participates in strikes against the US government, or participates in organizations engaged in related activities , May not serve in the US government. The criminal law of the United States clearly stipulates that persons who have committed crimes such as riots and treason shall not hold public office. The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives also have independent ethics committees that are specifically responsible for supervising and investigating whether members of Congress are unfaithful to the federal government. In the history of the United States, 18 members of Congress were disqualified for being unfaithful to the Union.
The United Kingdom has enacted the “Treason Act of 1351”, “The Treasonous Felony Act of 1848”, “The Official Secrets Act of 1989” and other laws to maintain national security to combat secession, subversion of state power, and collusion with external forces , Leaking state secrets and other crimes, to ensure people’s loyalty to the country and maintain national security. These laws also apply to public officials.
The U.S. federal government assumes the responsibility of improving the electoral system, and through specific election rules to ensure that the elected are “patriots.” As a unitary country, the central government decides the electoral system in all parts of the United Kingdom. At the same time, both the United States and Britain have a huge number of electoral system legislation. In just the past two years, American congressmen have proposed more than 40 bills on improving the electoral system. On the same day that the National People’s Congress of China announced its agenda for improving the electoral system of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (the evening of March 3rd, Eastern Time), the US House of Representatives also passed a “For the People’s Act” on improving the electoral system and enhancing election security. The British central government has formulated more than 200 laws, orders, and rules related to elections, and stipulated the elections of members of Parliament, mayors, and police in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Second, the British accuse China of violating the “Sino-British Joint Declaration”, damaging Hong Kong’s democracy and freedom, and violating China’s international obligations. This is completely disregarding facts and reversing black and white. The Chinese government governs Hong Kong based on the Chinese Constitution and Hong Kong Basic Law, not the “Sino-British Joint Declaration.” The core of the “Joint Declaration” is to ensure that China resumes its sovereignty over Hong Kong. The British side has no supervisory power and so-called moral responsibility for Hong Kong after the return, and has no qualifications and legal basis to interfere in Hong Kong affairs. During the more than 150 years of British colonial rule over Hong Kong, it did not give Hong Kong any democratic freedom. Successive Governors of Hong Kong were appointed by the United Kingdom. The Public Order Ordinance and the Societies Ordinance during the British Hong Kong era imposed strict restrictions on assembly, processions, and associations. Hong Kong people did not have the freedom to take to the streets to protest and demonstrate.
The Chinese central government is the defender and promoter of Hong Kong’s democracy. After the reunification, Hong Kong compatriots really began to be the masters of the country. The central government has always insisted on gradually advancing a democratic system in line with Hong Kong’s actual conditions on the track of the Constitution and the Basic Law, and has made great efforts to this end. In August 2014, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress made a decision to further stipulate the road map and timetable for universal suffrage of the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Legislative Council. It was the anti-China forces that deliberately obstructed the destruction and vetoed the universal suffrage plan, which made it impossible to achieve the goal of universal suffrage for the Chief Executive and the Legislative Council. In the “Regulations Amendment Disturbance” in 2019, anti-China and Hong Kong elements blatantly colluded with external forces in an attempt to instigate a “color revolution” in response to internal and external forces. They engage in extremely violent criminal activities, openly or secretly supported and condoned by the West, beating, smashing, looting and burning, attacking the police with lethal weapons, lynching ordinary citizens, and even setting fire to people in the street. Some foreign diplomats stationed in Hong Kong waved the British and American flags and requested the US military to land in Hong Kong. These activities have severely damaged Hong Kong’s constitutional order and the rule of law, and severely endangered national sovereignty, security, development interests, and Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability. No sovereign country can tolerate this. The revision and improvement of the Hong Kong electoral system by the National People’s Congress this time precisely reflects the central government’s efforts to uphold and improve the “One Country, Two Systems” system and maintain Hong Kong’s long-term prosperity and stability. It will better reflect the broad and balanced political participation of Hong Kong residents. A good balance of the interests of all social strata, sectors, and all aspects is conducive to improving the governance efficiency of the SAR and lays a good foundation for the ultimate realization of universal suffrage. This is the democracy that Hong Kong residents really deserve, and this is the long-term plan that is truly conducive to safeguarding the fundamental interests of Hong Kong.
As for China’s obligations, the primary responsibility and obligation of the Chinese government is to ensure territorial sovereignty and security, including the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and to ensure that external forces and their political agents cannot arbitrarily initiate “color revolutions” in Hong Kong. “, endanger Hong Kong’s security, stability, development and prosperity, and ensure that Hong Kong governors truly serve the interests and well-being of Hong Kong compatriots.
I also want to point out that the U.S. and U.K. parliamentarians are elected by American and British voters, and they have no right to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries. These congressmen should do more for their voters. The epidemic in the United Kingdom and the United States is so severe, so many people have lost their lives, so many people are addicted to drugs, are homeless, live on the streets, and racism and social injustice are becoming more and more serious. What have these congressmen doing? What they really should do is to listen to the voice of their own people, care about the welfare of their own people, and manage their own affairs well.
Finally, I want to emphasize that Hong Kong is China’s Hong Kong, and Hong Kong affairs are purely China’s internal affairs. The Chinese government is determined and confident to safeguard national sovereignty, security, development interests, and Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability. It is determined and confident to continue to implement “one country, two systems”, “Hong Kong people ruling Hong Kong” and a high degree of autonomy. Any external forces should not attempt to intervene in Hong Kong affairs and put pressure on China, otherwise they will suffer a shameful failure.
Xinhua News Agency reporter: According to reports, on March 30, China held the “International Cooperation Forum on Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Fight against the New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic.” Can you further introduce the details of this forum, including what results and consensus have been reached?
Hua Chunying: On March 30, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine jointly organized the “International Cooperation Forum on Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Fight against the New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic” through a combination of online and offline methods. Dignitaries, government officials and representatives of the World Health Organization and experts from 28 countries and regions including President Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, Deputy Prime Minister Stefanishna of Ukraine and other 28 countries and regions have in-depth exchanges through video connections.
Vice Premier Sun Chunlan said at the opening ceremony that Chinese medicine is a treasure of the Chinese nation. In this fight against the new crown pneumonia epidemic, Chinese medicine has been deeply involved in the whole process. Together with Western medicine, it has formed an eighth version of the diagnosis and treatment plan with Chinese characteristics. It has successfully launched a batch of effective Chinese medicines such as the “three medicines and three prescriptions”, and its efficacy has been tested in practice. China unreservedly shares its experience in prevention, control and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine with all parties, and is willing to work with other countries to continue to deepen cooperation in the basic theories, clinical efficacy, and international standards of traditional Chinese medicine to promote the complementary advantages, exchanges and mutual learning of traditional medicine and modern medicine. To better serve human health and well-being.
The forum has achieved three major results. One is the adoption of the “Supporting Chinese Medicine’s Participation in Global Epidemic Prevention and Control Initiative”. The initiative proposes to continue to adhere to multilateralism to jointly respond to the epidemic; continue to carry out experience summaries, promote and apply them; continue to use traditional medicine to protect the health of the people; continue to strengthen international cooperation and develop traditional medicine. Second, the unique role of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of new coronary pneumonia has been widely announced. Minister-level officials of the 13 participating countries and officials of relevant departments of the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Region Governments respectively introduced the role, characteristics and advantages of traditional medicine represented by traditional Chinese medicine in the fight against the new crown pneumonia epidemic in various countries and regions. The third is to lay the foundation for promoting cooperation in the traditional medicine of participating countries in responding to the new crown pneumonia epidemic. The participating officials and experts reached a consensus on further strengthening unity and promoting cooperation among countries in the field of traditional medicine. I think this forum is of positive significance for us to continue to cooperate in the next step to deal with the new crown pneumonia epidemic.
Bloomberg reporter: Two questions. First, the Director-General of the WHO stated that the joint expert group report did not fully analyze the possibility of laboratory leaks before reaching the conclusion that the new coronavirus is most likely to be transmitted from bats through an intermediate host. Yesterday, the Director-General stated at a briefing to member states that more expert teams may need to be sent. Does the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have any comment on this? Second question, Sha Lei, a BBC correspondent in China, has left here for Taiwan after receiving a lot of criticism for his China-related reports. Does the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have any comment on this?
Hua Chunying: First of all, to answer your first question, China has already stated its position regarding the WHO’s research report on the traceability of the new coronavirus. We appreciate the scientific, diligent and professional spirit shown by the Chinese and foreign experts participating in this traceability cooperation.
China has always supported scientists from various countries to carry out global scientific research on the source and transmission of the virus, participated in the drafting of the WHO resolution on new coronary pneumonia, and supported member states to conduct research on the source of the virus and animals under the leadership of WHO Cooperation. Under the arduous task of preventing and controlling the domestic epidemic situation, China invited WHO experts twice to conduct traceability research in China. China has provided necessary assistance for the smooth work of the expert group in Wuhan, which fully reflects China’s open, transparent and responsible attitude.
Traceability is a scientific issue, and related work should be carried out by global scientists. The act of politicizing the traceability issue will only seriously hinder global traceability cooperation, undermine the global anti-epidemic efforts, and cause more loss of life. This runs counter to the desire of the international community to unite in the fight against the epidemic.
Traceability is also a global task, which should be carried out in many countries and places. We believe that this joint study by WHO and China will play a good role in promoting global traceability cooperation.
As for you, Director General Tedros said that the possibility of laboratory leaks cannot be completely ruled out and further research is needed. What I want to say is that in this China-WHO joint traceability In scientific research, the joint expert group visited Hubei Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Wuhan Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Wuhan Institute of Virology and other institutions, visited various biosafety laboratories, and conducted in-depth and candid scientific exchanges with experts from related institutions . After on-site visits and in-depth understanding, the expert group agreed that the hypothesis that a laboratory event caused a virus is extremely unlikely, and this is also an important scientific conclusion made clear in the joint research report on traceability released this time.
I want to emphasize that China is conducting joint traceability scientific research with WHO at the request of WHO. All parties should respect science and the opinions and conclusions of scientists. In this regard, WHO in particular should play a leading role.
As for further research issues, you may have also noticed that at the WHO International Expert Group video press conference, some experts said that speculation about laboratory leaks has always existed, but after serious work in China The inspection did not find any suspicious signs. They learned in detail about the management of the laboratory, work practices, and recent virus research, and believe that “laboratory leaks” are extremely unlikely. Experts also stated at the video press conference that, of course, if there is further evidence that it is necessary to re-evaluate the hypothesis, work can also be carried out on relevant laboratories around the world.
I also talked about it yesterday, and there is always a question mark on the issue of laboratory leaks. This time the expert team conducted an in-depth investigation in Wuhan, but we also know that there were many early reports of outbreaks in many places around the world. In addition to the Fort Detrick biological base, some countries have more than 200 biological bases around the world. . Therefore, if necessary, scientists should be allowed to work in other related laboratories around the world in a scientific spirit and attitude. We hope that other relevant countries can, like China, conduct close cooperation with WHO experts in a scientific, open, transparent and responsible manner. I believe this is in the interest of the world. Because everyone hopes to find the answer so that in the future, we can better respond to similar public health crises.
Your second question refers to the BBC China correspondent Sha Lei leaving mainland China, right?
Hua Chunying: I also learned that Sha Lei had left without saying goodbye in the past two days when Sha Lei’s resident reporter card was about to be extended. He did not inform the relevant Chinese authorities in any way before leaving the country. We do not know why he left the country. You just mentioned his report. Just before the press conference started, I saw the BBC tweeted praise Sha Lei, saying that he “reported some truths that China does not want the world to know”. Therefore, I want to say a few more words.
First of all, I want to declare again that we just learned that Sha Lei left without saying goodbye. He left his post abnormally because he had not fulfilled the formalities that a foreign journalist based in China should go through before leaving his post.
It is true that we have also heard that some people and entities in Xinjiang plan to sue Sha Lei for harming Sha Lei’s interests in Xinjiang’s fake news. This is entirely a nongovernmental behavior and has nothing to do with the Chinese government. China is now advancing the comprehensive rule of law, and the people’s awareness of using legal means to protect their rights and interests is constantly increasing. We have not heard of any threats from the Chinese government. Therefore, if Sha Lei thinks his report is fair and objective, he should respond bravely without being afraid. If there is evidence that he has been threatened, he should call the police and we will protect his safety. But what is he running? What does this indicate?
BBC produces and broadcasts a large number of fake news with strong ideological prejudice, which seriously deviates from the objective, balanced, and fair position of media reports, especially on issues related to Xinjiang, Hong Kong, and the new crown pneumonia epidemic. A lot of false information has been strongly opposed by the Chinese people. China has repeatedly made solemn representations to the station, hoping that they will take China’s position seriously, discard anti-China ideological prejudice and double standards, stop slandering, smearing, and attacking China, and report China objectively, fairly and accurately.
In the past few days, I have seen teacher Zhang Weiwei have a very wonderful dialogue interview on the “This Is China” program, called “The credibility of Western media”. He mentioned the BBC in this episode. He gave some examples. For example, during the Hong Kong legislative turmoil in 2019, BBC reports on Hong Kong were full of double standards and fake news. In October 2019, the BBC reported the so-called “39 Chinese smuggled into the UK and died in a British truck.” It turned out that the dead were all Vietnamese, but the BBC did not apologize to China. The BBC’s fraudulent behavior on international issues has even reached the point where insiders can’t stand it. In February 2019, BBC Syrian News Producer Dalati tweeted a tweet, announcing the secret that had been hidden for a long time, that is: the so-called Syrian government chemical weapons about the city of Duma, Syria The video of the attack was self-directed and self-acted fake news. But after he revealed this fact, his Twitter account was blocked.
We all know that the BBC’s unobjective and unfair reporting on China is shocking. For example, the Wuhan epidemic documentary broadcast by the BBC in January this year used images of Chinese police anti-terrorism drills to accuse China of “using head coverings to arrest people.” In addition, the BBC has a British Royal Charter. The British Communications Authority can supervise the BBC’s domestic departments, but it can only supervise the BBC International Channel. In other words, the BBC International Channel, which is responsible for disseminating British values to the outside world, has obtained the “Sword of Shang Fang” to do whatever it wants, and its international channels do not need to be subject to any supervision. Not long ago, British scholar David Sedgwick published a book called “Fake News Factory-Stories from the BBC”. He believes that the BBC has actually evolved into a stubborn political campaign group. It is very interesting that the British “Daily Express” also published an article entitled “The Failure of the BBC”, which specifically mentioned a poll conducted in the United Kingdom. It was found that almost half of the people believed that the BBC had been in recent years. The news reports are unfair. This is why Mr. Zhang Weiwei believes that the Western media is now facing a credibility crisis. I think he said a lot of Chinese people’s aspirations.
I want to ask my colleague to play a video. This is what we saw on Youtu, a story about the BBC and Zheng Guoen told by a foreign blogger. (Live video)
This video verifies the chain of lies I said yesterday.
I also want to emphasize that China has always protected the rights of foreign journalists to cover and work in China in accordance with laws and regulations. We have also been working hard to provide convenience and assistance for foreign journalists to live and work in China. What we oppose is ideological prejudice against China, what we oppose is the use of so-called press freedom to concoct fake news, and what we oppose is behavior that violates the professional ethics of journalism. When a media outlet puts ideology and values that it believes to be correct above reality, how does this differ from the practice of putting politics above science in the fight against the epidemic? The latter pays the price of life, the former inevitably pays the price of credibility.
Japan Kyodo News reporter: My question is also about the latest virus traceability research report released by the WHO. 14 countries including the United States issued a joint statement on the 31st, expressing concerns and raising questions about this report. what opinions do the Chinese have on this issue?
Hua Chunying: We have repeatedly emphasized that traceability is a scientific issue, which should be carried out by global scientists and cannot be politicized. This is the consensus of most countries in the international community. The United States gathered a handful of countries to issue the so-called “joint statement” and openly questioned and rejected the report of the China-WHO Joint Expert Group. This is conclusive evidence that they disrespect science and engage in political manipulation through traceability. The United States actually started to do this before the report was released, but there were very few responders. This practice of politicizing the source of the virus is extremely unethical and unpopular. It can only hinder global traceability cooperation, undermine global anti-epidemic efforts, and cause more loss of life. It is completely contrary to the desire of the international community to fight the epidemic in solidarity. I believe that the vast majority of countries in the international community see this very clearly, and their plans will not succeed. Relevant countries should reflect on themselves and ask themselves: What is your own anti-epidemic work? What have you done for international anti-epidemic cooperation?
AFP reporter: Yesterday the WHO Director-General called for another expert team to “investigate” the Wuhan Virus Research Institute. Will China allow the WHO expert team to visit China again to “investigate” the Wuhan Institute of Virology?
