The “Red Cultural Hussars Pursuing Revolutionary Footprints” event was held at the third station, Zijinsu District, Heyuan, from April 15th to 16th. On-site activities such as photo exhibitions, party classes, cultural performances, and college students’ revisiting revolutionary historical sites were carried out.

Zijin is a red land. During the period of the founding of the Communist Party of China, Zijin was one of the first places in the country to spread Marxism and establish party organizations; during the Great Revolution, Zijin became an important part of the Hailufeng peasant movement; during the Agrarian Revolutionary War, Zijin was the first country to erupt against the Kuomintang reactionaries. According to the person in charge of Guangdong Revolutionary History Museum, on December 29, 1927, the Fourth Red Division left Longmen and arrived at Zijin on the 31st. Here, the Fourth Red Division made the feat of outsmarting Zijin County without firing a shot. This was another exciting victory after the third riot in Dongjiang, and it has been widely praised by posterity. It was also here that the Fifth Regiment of the Red Second Division and the Fourth Red Division successfully joined forces, and coordinated with the Zijin Soviet government to convene a public trial meeting with more than 6,000 people in Paozi Township, and executed the pseudo-national county magistrate Qiu Guozhong and others. Then, under the leadership of the Guangdong District Party Committee and the Dongjiang Special Committee, the Second Red Division, the Fourth Red Division and the Dongjiang Base Agricultural Army continued to fought in the Dongjiang area, Hailufeng and other places, and persevered in the struggle for the consolidation and development of the Dongjiang Revolutionary Base. The revolutionary struggle led by the Communist Party of China has been preserved.

As part of the “Red Cultural Hussars Pursuing Revolutionary Footprints” activity, the “Guangzhou Uprising” photo exhibition was held in the compound of the former Soviet government site in Zijin County, bringing more than 170 precious pieces to the Guangdong Revolutionary History Museum The historical pictures, including the collection of cultural relics, such as the symbol of the Guangzhou Uprising, the national first-class cultural relic-the red cloth belt, and the pocket watches, flashlights, and leathers used by Yang Yin, one of the initiators of the Guangzhou Uprising Organization, during the preparations for the uprising. Compared with the two stations in Huadu and Longmen, Zijin The exhibition at the station added the fourth Red Division’s attack on Longwowei, the Second Red Division and the Fourth Red Division’s Zijin Victory Reunion, and the Fourth Red Division held a public trial meeting in Paozi Township.

The theme of this party class is “The Great Attempt”. It was arranged by party history experts from the Party History Literature Research Office of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee. The whole process of the Guangzhou Uprising was divided into preparatory chapters, uprising chapters, battle chapters, and transfers. Four chapters, including “Ye Jianying: Back to Guangzhou with a “Pulled Grenade””, “Yang Yin: A Great Monument on the Secret Front”, “Zhang Tailei: Leader of the Soviet Power in China’s First City”, “Chen Tiejun, Chen Tie’er: “Sisters of the Revolution” and other stories.

The place where the party class and the photo exhibition are held-the former site of the Soviet government in Zijin County. Historically, the house where the former site was located was called Huzicang. The Soviet government in Zijin County was established in 1927. It was painted red at the time, so it is also known as the “Red Room”. Now its internal furnishings have basically restored the old appearance when the Fourth Red Division was stationed here.

Currently, there are more than 20 old revolutionary sites and memorial buildings in the Soviet District of Zijin County. More than 20 college students from Guangzhou University visited the site of the Soviet government in Zijin County, the site of the Second Division of the Red Division, the site of the Agricultural Association of Zijin County, the Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs in the Soviet Area and other revolutionary historical sites in the form of orienteering.

Su District Town is located in the southeast of Zijin County, 42 kilometers away from the county seat. Formerly known as Paozi Township, it is an old revolutionary district named after the “Soviet District” approved by the State Council in 1958. It was the early Zijin County Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Zijin County Soviet Government The location is one of the earliest Soviet areas in the revolutionary history of the Communist Party of China.
