Yan Purun Memorial Hall in Cangtai Town, Tanghe, Henan-a red mark engraved on the border of Henan and Hubei

This red venue is the Yan Purun Memorial Hall in Yanzhuang Village, where the revolutionary spirit of Yan Purun, a revolutionary martyr, spreads the land of Henan and Hubei. Tanghe is an old revolutionary base in the Dabie Mountains, and a large number of revolutionary martyrs such as Zhang Xingjiang and Yan Purun have emerged.
Step into the exhibition hall of Yan Purun Memorial Hall, the four parts are vividly described in the four parts of “the scholarly pregnancy show, the fight for the military, the spread of sparks, the arouse of the people, the tide of the Tang River, the armed riots, the resistance to Japan in Qinyang, and the heroic martyrdom” The struggling footprints of the martyrs Yan Purun, one by one, one by one, and one by one photos, brought each admirer to the prosperous years of the revolutionaries of the older generation.
According to historical records, Yan Purun was born in Cangtai Town, Tanghe County. He was enlightened at the age of 6, was admitted to the county primary school at the age of 12, and was admitted to the provincial Kaifeng No. 1 Normal School at the age of 17. During this period, influenced by the “May 4th” patriotic movement, I participated in the demonstrations of the patriotic student corps in the county town. After the “May 30th” movement, I joined the Youth Academy in Kaifeng. In March 1926, Yan Purun was admitted to the fourth phase of the Whampoa Military Academy. During the period, he was introduced by Xiao Chunv and Yun Daiying to join the Communist Party of China. He was then incorporated into the Ye Ting Independent Group to participate in the Northern Expedition, and successively participated in battles such as Tingsi Bridge and He Sheng Bridge.

After the failure of the Great Revolution, Yan Purun returned to his hometown of Yanzhuang and continued the revolutionary struggle in the Tangnan area and created the “Four Firsts” of Tanghe County: the first one Civilian night school; established the first peasant association, and proposed “reduction of rent and reimbursement” and “opposing unpaid expenditures”; established the first peasant red guard in Tanghe County; most importantly, the establishment of Tanghe County The first rural grassroots party branch. In December 1927, Yan Purun was elected as Secretary of the CPC Tanghe County Party Committee. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Yan Purun responded to the party’s call and resolutely stepped onto the anti-Japanese battlefield. In 1938, he died heroically in the fierce battle between Qinyang County and the Japanese invaders. He was only 32 years old.
According to the person in charge of the memorial hall, the Yan Purun memorial hall has been included in the red matrix of Tanghe’s 100th anniversary of the founding of the party. Based on the functional positioning of the red education base, it has continuously improved service measures and improved service quality.
According to statistics, since the opening of the museum this year, the Yan Purun Memorial Hall has welcomed more than 30,000 visits and learning, and it has played an important role in promoting red culture and inheriting red genes. (End)
