“Little Volunteers” is a branded educational activity founded by the China Science and Technology Museum in 2007. The activity aims to promote the spirit of volunteerism of dedication, friendship, mutual assistance, and progress through regular volunteer services and exclusive volunteer activities. Forms to guide the majority of children to improve in voluntary service and grow in scientific practice. In the 14 years since the event was launched, thousands of small volunteers have been trained, and the social response has been good. In 2021, the China Science and Technology Museum will continue to openly recruit “little volunteers” from the public.

Announcement on Recruitment of “Little Volunteers” of China Science and Technology Museum in 2021

  1. Age 8 to 11 years old Between (children born between August 1, 2009 and August 31, 2013).
  2. Live in Beijing and be healthy.

  3. Have a strong scientific interest and enthusiasm for volunteer service.

  4. Willing to show oneself, with strong learning ability, expression ability and stage performance.

  5. Have good organizational discipline and teamwork spirit.

  6. Have the necessary qualities and time for voluntary service.

  7. The consent of the guardian must be obtained.

Service location: Children’s Science Park Exhibition Hall of China Science and Technology Museum.

Service content: knowledge explanation of exhibits, scientific performances, etc.

Service time: No less than 10 services during the registration period, and each service time is no less than 1.5 hours.

  1. After the China Science and Technology Museum conducts an online review of the registration materials, the interview information will be published in the “Little Volunteers” column on the official website of the China Science and Technology Museum and the official account of the Handheld Science and Technology Museum before July 15, 2021. For related matters, it is planned to organize on-site interviews on July 17 and 18 (subject to the publicity time). Parents are requested to make an appointment online and arrange the interview time in advance.
  2. Please bring a personal information sheet for the interview (Attachment 2, compressed into a single page and printed by yourself). If there are no photos uploaded in the personal information form, you can print and paste a one-inch or two-inch photo (black and white or color).

  3. The content of the interview includes but is not limited to: self-introduction, trial speeches of explanations (attachment 3, the explanations can be adjusted appropriately, and small auxiliary props can be provided by yourself), examiner’s questions, talent display, etc., each child The interview time is about 6 minutes.

  4. The results of the interview will be announced in the “Little Volunteers” column on the official website of the China Science and Technology Museum and the official account of the Palm Science and Technology Museum before July 22, 2021. The announcement will also include training information, please admit candidates Check in time.

  5. Number of recruits: 60 people.

  6. It is planned to organize pre-job training for “little volunteers” from July 27 to 30, 2021, and hold a parent briefing meeting on July 31, requiring a guardian to participate. During the training, please strictly observe the class time, and no leave is allowed without special reasons.

  7. The training includes the following content:

(1) Overview of China Science and Technology Museum, voluntary service rules and regulations, and knowledge introduction to exhibits;

(2) Exhibition hall practice , Hands-on production, scientific experiment and other educational activities training;

(3) Demonstration and explanation by representatives of outstanding “little volunteers”.

After the training is over, a pre-job assessment will be held. Those who pass the assessment can sign a voluntary service agreement with the China Science and Technology Museum and register, and formally have the China Science and Technology Museum “Little Volunteer” service qualification.

  1. This activity is of a public welfare nature. During the training period, except for the lunch fee (estimated 30 yuan per person/day), no other fees will be charged.
  2. The China Science and Technology Museum has the right to cancel the qualifications of “little volunteers” for those who do not comply with the event management measures.
