Former South Korean President Park Geun-hye’s private house will be auctioned for an appraised price of over 18 million yuan

According to Korean media reports, South Korean court judicial auction firm GG Auction announced on the 22nd that former South Korean President Park Geun-hye’s private residence in Gudong, Seocho District, Seoul, will be held on August 9. The first four-day auction will be held today.
p > The Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office seized Park Geun-hye’s private house in Naegok-dong, Seoul, and commissioned the Korean Asset Management Corporation to auction it to recover the fines and criminal proceeds owed by Park Geun-hye.
The appraised price of the private house is 3.16554 billion won (approximately RMB 18.073 million), with 1 basement level and 2 floors above ground, with a land area of 406 square meters and a building area of 571 square meters. If this auction fails, the second auction will be launched a week later, with a starting price of 90% of the first reserve price.
Park Geun-hye was impeached in March 2017 and lost his judicial immunity due to the scandal of “confidentialism in politics”. He was detained in the detention center on the 31st of the same month. On January 14, 2021, the South Korean Supreme Court made a final judgment on Park Geun-hye’s “confidential involvement in politics” and bribery cases, sentenced Park Geun-hye to 20 years in prison, fined 18 billion won, and recovered 3.5 billion won. According to South Korean “Criminal Law”, fines must be paid within 30 days from the day the sentence is determined.
In addition, Park Geun-hye was also sentenced to 2 years for violating the public office election law. Currently, Park Geun-hye has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.
