The 6th Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting was held in Chongqing on the 8th. The foreign ministers of Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam attended the meeting. Wang Yi said that standing at a new historical starting point, China will resolutely implement the diplomatic concept of friendship, sincerity, benefit, and tolerance proposed by President Xi Jinping, and work with the Mekong countries towards building a community of shared future for the Lancang-Mekong countries. The foreign ministers of the participating countries thanked China for its attention and investment in Lancang-Mekong cooperation, especially the sincere assistance provided to Lancang-Mekong countries in fighting the epidemic and economic recovery, and expected China to continue to play a key role in the cooperation process.
The meeting passed the”Joint Statement on Strengthening Cooperation in the Sustainable Development of Lancang-Mekong Countries”,”Initiatives on Deepening Local Cooperation in Lancang-Mekong Countries” and”On Deepening Cooperation in Traditional Medicine under the Framework of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Consensus documents such as the Joint Statement of the People’s Republic of China.
