According to the press release issued by the WHO, on the day the conference closed, the member states agreed to hold a special session of the World Health Assembly in November this year, considering the formulation of a “WHO Global Agreement” to strengthen WHO Prevention and response to health emergencies such as the new crown pneumonia epidemic.

He said that one day the new crown pneumonia pandemic will end, but the weakness that haunts human society will not disappear, that is, a small-scale epidemic may still become a global pandemic.
“Therefore, I think one of the recommendations that can best strengthen WHO and global health security is to advocate the development of an agreement to prevent and respond to the pandemic.” Tan Desai said, I believe that once the agreement is released, It can lead to an overall framework that transcends budgets, elections, and news cycles, and connects the political, financial, and technological mechanisms needed to strengthen global health security.
He introduced that at present, more than 60 countries have expressed their support for the establishment of a global agreement on pandemic prevention under the framework of the WHO. He expressed his gratitude to the WHO for this and looks forward to it in November this year. The World Health Assembly will discuss this matter further with member states at the special session.
The WHO press bulletin shows that in addition to agreeing to put the global agreement on pandemic prevention on the agenda, the current Health Assembly has passed more than 30 resolutions and decisions, involving diabetes, AIDS, malaria, and psychology during the epidemic. Health, localization of drug production, etc.
In the opening and closing remarks of the conference, Tan Desai also twice mentioned the “September Sprint” and “December Action” of the new crown vaccine, that is to say, it is proposed to provide every country in the world by September this year. At least 10% of the population will be vaccinated, and at least 30% of the population will be vaccinated by the end of this year. For this reason, WHO calls on the new crown vaccine manufacturers to give priority to the “New Coronary Pneumonia Vaccine Implementation Plan” (COVAX) initiated by the WHO to supply vaccines, or Pledged to use half of the vaccine produced this year for this program.
