China’s new short-faced hedgehog fossil discovered 20 million years ago

September 13 news, Chinese Academy of Sciences Researchers from the Institute of Vertebrate and Paleoanthropology have discovered three short-faced hedgehog fossils in the early Miocene fossil fauna of 20 million years ago in central Inner Mongolia. Among them, the Junggar short-faced hedgehog with well-preserved skulls is more closely related to the short-faced hedgehogs in North America.
