In April this year, the competition was formally called for papers nationwide. As of August 2, the official website of the competition had received more than 15,000 submissions.

The competition is open to children under 13 years of age (inclusive) and 4 years old (inclusive) and above (including special children) to solicit original works, and provide “birthday” and “return to 2021” The three topics of “Unforgettable Poetry” are for children to choose.

This competition has set up 12 thematic awards including the most artistic award, the best exploration award, the best visual award, the best narrative award, and the best inheritance award, which are intended to encourage children to explore, feel and Record the life around you and pay attention to the children’s innocent and differentiated expression.

It is worth mentioning that, in order to promote traditional culture, this competition also added a calligraphy unit, and set up a separate calligraphy category in the awards section, divided into five types of calligraphy judging.

In August, the competition organizing committee invited the judges to make a preliminary evaluation of the entries, and a total of more than 540 shortlisted works were selected. On September 11, 12 expert judges from various fields made a final evaluation of the works selected in the preliminary evaluation at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

“This year’s competition requires every child to write out why they should draw this picture and why they should do it.” Wang Xiaolin, the general judge of the competition and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, believes that the logic of the child can be reflected.
