Yangzhou has a history of human civilization of nearly 7000 years and a history of more than 2500 years. It is one of the first 24 famous historical and cultural cities announced by the State Council. It is also the birthplace of the world cultural heritage – China’s grand canal and an important node of the maritime Silk Road. As one of the few general historical cities in China, Yangzhou has experienced the prosperity of the Han Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty. According to Shu Jiaping, curator of Yangzhou Museum, “Since the last century, we have obtained some archaeological results from water conservancy archaeology, infrastructure archaeology, active excavation and sporadic excavation. These excavation results related to the history of Yangzhou City tell us the location of the earliest Yangzhou and Yangzhou city. Yangzhou has three prosperous periods. These unearthed cultural relics confirm the development process of Yangzhou and present Yangzhou history with materials. There is great hope Through this exhibition, we can make a deeper impression on the history of Yangzhou. ”
